SRSB Students and Staff to Participate in We Day Atlantic 2015 Event

On Friday, November 27, 2015, about 450 Strait Regional School Board Grades 6 to 12 students, staff and chaperones will join thousands of others at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax for an exciting, International and educational event, We Day Atlantic. For anyone at home interested in watching the excitement, the event will be live via webcast from the We Day website at weday.com.



School Bus Safety Awareness Week: October 19 to 23, 2015

The Strait Regional School Board reminds everyone that school bus safety is a shared responsibility.  Please slow down in school zones and pay extra attention to students walking to school.  Please never pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing.

Strait Regional School Board Celebrates Mi'kmaq History Month 2015

Each October, school communities focus on the history, culture and achievements of the Mi’kmaq community.  This is also an opportune time for each of us to reflect on our own understanding of the contributions and traditions of the Mi’kmaq community. The theme of Mi’kmaq History Month 2015 is Wapna’kikewaq, People of the Dawn.  This is the International Year of Light.

Overcoming the Achievement Gap Focus of Professional Development Session for SRSB Staff

Approximately 130 Strait Regional School Board staff members including school administrators and teachers from all schools in the Strait Region, as well as staff from the Department of Programs and Student Services, members of Regional Office and School Board members took part in an exceptional learning opportunity entitled Overcoming the Achievement Gap on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.  The session was facilitated by Dr. Anthony Muhammad, an internationally renowned leading expert in the areas of school culture and organizational climate.
