Congratulations to Tamarac Education Centre students Nolan MacNeil (Grade 4 Immersion) and Chiara Zovatto (Grade 5 Immersion) who earned the first place provincial prize in the 3Rs Eco-Art Challenge.  As part of Waste Reduction Week 2016, elementary school students across Canada were challenged to design a creative poster that promotes the 3Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle. More than 300 students submitted a design and 13 schools were presented with cash prizes for their school's environmental initiatives. The class was awarded $500 to support initiatives that focus on taking care and protecting the environment.

Madame Leanne Paon, French Immersion Teacher at Tamarac Education Centre, invited her class to take part in this awareness initiative focused on recognizing the importance of respecting the environment. Nolan and Chiara embraced the idea and submitted artwork to the provincial Waste Reduction Challenge.
