The 12 member Board holds public meetings on the first Wednesday of each month (excepting the month of July) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are usually held at the Regional Office, 304 Pitt Street (SAERC Auditorium), Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. From time to time, it may be necessary to hold the meeting on another date or venue. Changes in dates and/or venue will be advertised through the local media.

Making a Presentation to the Board
Persons or groups may request an opportunity to appear before the Board to express concern and to make proposals on issues within the jurisdiction of the Regional Board. All concerns, with the exception of labour negotiations, legal or potentially legal matters, personnel and discipline matters, may be addressed at a public board meeting.
The Chair will decide which Board meeting the delegation will appear before and the Secretary will inform the delegation as to the date of the meeting and the time during the meeting at which the delegation will be received. Delegations must send the request, with details, in writing to the Board Secretary ten days before the date of the meeting at which they wish to appear.
Delegations must forward copies of their presentation to the Board Secretary (for distribution to the Board members) forty-eight (48) hours prior to the meeting. Delegations may appoint up to two spokespersons and no other member (of the delegation) will address the Board except with the permission of the Board. Presentations should be limited to ten to fifteen minutes. Following the presentation, Board members will have an opportunity to ask questions of clarification. A public record of all approved Board Minutes is kept at the regional office and may be viewed by contacting the Board Secretary/Executive Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.
