Congratulations all students and award recipients who took part in the 17th annual Strait Regional Science Fair. Special congratulations to the following four grand prize award winners:
Robert Carter, Grade 9, Chedabucto Education Centre/Guysborough Academy

Matthew Sampson, Grade 12, Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional High School
Project– The Portable Printer
Brenton Sutherland, Grade 11, Dalbrae Academy

Project – Micro Hydro - Do a Lot, With a Little
Each student will attend the Canada Wide Science Fair scheduled for May 11-16, 2015, in Fredericton, New Brunswick and the Nova Scotia Science Fair Showcase to be held on April 30, 2015, in Halifax.
The Strait Regional School Board extends sincere thanks to all members of the 2015 Science Fair Planning Committee for their ongoing dedication to providing students with an excellent educational opportunity: Andrew Clarey, Betsy Jardine, Maria Boudreau, Lawrence Deagle, Tracy MacIsaac, Justin Fougere, Darryl Breen, Chris West, Stephanie MacDonald, Beryl Hadley and Sandra Beaton.
In addition, thank you to parents/guardians, school board staff, Award sponsors and local businesses for their ongoing support of the event and the many judges who volunteer their time to review the outstanding student projects.

Celebrating and Showcasing Student Creativity and Innovation
It's that time of year again for young scientists as they prepare for the Strait Regional Science Fair 2015. On Wednesday, April 1, 2015, the public is invited to view the grades 3-6 projects from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the grades 7 to 12 projects from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Both viewings will be held at the Civic Centre. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at the SAERC Auditorium. Learn More...

To learn well, our children and youth need to eat well. Nutrition plays a key role in the healthy development of our children and youth. Nutritious foods provide our body and mind with the energy needed to grow, feel well, be active, stay healthy and learn.
